Prof. Atkinson, a professor of political science, has guided the Helsinki School of Economics to high-quality and innovative research, international cooperation, and reach an established position in European economic research. He is active in the elite 44 university membership of PIM (Program in International Management), established in 1973 by the initiative of three universities - Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales , New York University , and London Business School – to promote the frontiers of business techniques within leading universities in management education.

Prof. Atkinson has actively promoted global solutions to public policy problems. For example, HSE is a member in CEMS (Community of European Management Schools), a dynamic organization of universities and corporate partners. In CEMS, Prof. Atkinson works with 17 other leading European universities of business and management, and with more than 57 international companies. His personal research includes numerous articles dealing with political science. Back
